EASY Homemade Crispy Cheddar Chicken Fries your kids will love

Prep Time – 10 minutes | Cook Time: 20 minutes | Total Time: 30 minutes

If you have small kids, you know that what’s “kid-approved” today might be completely rejected tomorrow—welcome to parenting! But this easy homemade chicken fries recipe has been a winner in our house most of the time. With just a few simple ingredients, it’s a great option for busy weeknights. The best part? It’s easy to make—even if you absolutely cannot deal with raw chicken (I get it, I’m the same way!). Plus, we get the kids involved, making it a fun, hands-on experience (with supervision, of course). Here is the Reel on just how this whole process went down.

**Ingredients:**

– Skinless chicken breasts or tenders

– Beef Tallow (or your preferred cooking fat)

– 1 block of mild cheddar cheese

– 1 egg

**Instructions:**

1. Perp the Oven – Preheat your oven to 375°F .

2. Season the Chicken – Season your chicken to your liking! We keep it simple with olive oil and garlic salt since our kids aren’t big on bold flavors (if you know, you know).

3. Shred the Cheese-
We’ve been buying blocks of cheese and shredding them ourselves, which is not only healthier but also way more fun. We use this cheese grater that also slices veggies—it’s become a kitchen staple!

4. Cook & Shred the Chicken –
Heat your skillet and season your pan for cooking. We use beef tallow, but you can use oil or butter. Once the chicken is fully cooked (internal temp should be 165°F—we use this thermometer to check), shred it! We toss ours into our Ninja food processor to make this part quick and easy.

5. Combine Ingredients –
Add the shredded cheddar and egg to the processor with the chicken and pulse lightly to combine. You don’t want to overdo it!

6. Shape the Fries –
Form the mixture into fries or nuggets (whatever your family prefers) and place them on your favorite non-stick baking sheet. We swear by these sheets because they prevent burning!

7. Bake –
Bake at 375°F for 20 minutes or until golden and crispy.

8. SERVE and Enjoy!
We pair these chicken fries with French fries, a veggie, and our favorite dipping sauce. Simple, easy, and kid-approved (most of the time).

**Pro Tips:**

Customize It! Add your favorite herbs and spices to the chicken for extra flavor.

Air Fryer Option: Skip the skillet and cook the chicken in the air fryer for a quicker, crispier finish. We have this Air Fryer which I LOVE it can do 1000 things and its Non – Toxic.

Shred Smarter: A food processor makes shredding the chicken so much easier—total game-changer! We have had this one for about 10 years and it still works great and recently just got this one which works really well too!

– It’s delicious, enjoy!
