Hi, I’m Nicole!
I’m Nicole Hamil content creator,military spouse, and mom of two, living just outside of Atlanta, Georgia. My husband Chris is in the Army, and when he’s not deployed or leading his troop, he’s either trying to better his community or firing up the grill—usually with a kid on his hip.
Our life hasn’t exactly been calm or quiet—but it’s ours. We bought our house in 2019 with big dreams to make is ours. And like most families, we thought we’d knock it all out in a year. (Spoiler: we didn’t.)
Between deployments, diaper blowouts, and a whole lot of trial and error, we’ve slowly been making this house OUR Home—inside and out. Some projects we tackle ourselves (with kids “helping”), and others we hand off to the pros. But no matter what, we share it all: the wins, the fails, and everything in between.
We’re also big believers in making memories—not just messes. Travel has always been a huge part of our life. And yes, we bring the kids! Traveling with little ones isn’t always easy, but it’s always worth it. Don’t be afraid to go—some of our best family moments have happened miles from home with uncrustables and zero nap schedules.
Outdoor living has become one of our biggest joys. We’re building a space that brings our family outside more—where we can host dinners under string lights, let the kids run wild, and just be together. My goal is to inspire other women to take that first step toward building a life they love, even if it’s imperfect, slow, or messy.
What does living on one percent actually mean?
What started as a joke between two tired moms—our phones always on 1%—turned into something so much deeper. Living on One Percent is for the women doing it all… often on empty.
The moms, the wives, the fixers, and the doers who give everything they’ve got (and then some) to the people they love. It’s about digging deep when you’re running on fumes. Finding little moments of beauty in the chaos, and reminding yourself that even if you only have one percent left- thats still enough to keep going.
