Girls’ Trip to Dunya Camp
Dunya Camp, Every Girl’s Dream Getaway
I am back from my girls’ trip to Dunya Camp with Amanda, and I just have to share how amazing it was! I’ve talked about traveling some this year, and I really think it’s important for moms to get away and clear their heads for a bit!
I found Dunya Camp through a post on social media that someone had shared. Dunya Camp is located in Summerville, GA. It’s a small town (no large chains, mostly small businesses) about an hour and a half away from where I live! It’s about 90 miles outside of Atlanta, and about 60 miles away from Chattanooga, TN. We met the owner, who was so kind. She told us that they were originally from Atlanta, and they’ve only been open since May of 2023!
Security Measures
Before you arrive, they send you a text with your tent number and the gate code. I have to admit, I wasn’t sure about the security because at the end of the day, you’re staying in a tent. So I wasn’t sure how secure I would feel. Until we got there. It’s gated, with a code, and there are cameras everywhere!!! They had cameras on all sides of the tent. So it felt completely safe.
Amenities
There are 6 tents in total. We stayed in the Sunset Grand tent, which included the sauna. Not all of the tents have the same amenities, so research what is most important for you while you stay! They have tons of amenity options! We chose to add on the aromatherapy for the sauna, which came with face masks and essential oils to add the the sauna rocks. We also used the cold shower on the deck, because we’re health conscious and it’s apparently good for you. Lol.
Private + Peaceful Outdoor Living
Another really great thing about the space is that it is very private and peaceful! There were other guests staying on either side of us, and we didn’t hear them at all. It was so nice to be there and have no distractions from relaxing and spending time with a good friend!
In addition to the sauna on the deck, there is also a fire pit and a hot tub. We didn’t use the fire pit, because we spent so much time in the hot tub. But it is a great option if the weather is cooler when you are staying there! They also have beautiful lights on the deck that you can turn off or on. The stargazing out there is INCREDIBLE! So even if you keep the lights on, you can still see the stars so clearly. I’ve never really experienced anything like that.
Tent Layouts to Encourage Being Outside
The tents are a very indoor/outdoor concept. The front of the tent that overlooks the mountain is pure glass panels. The entire wall is just full of beautiful views outside. You can also lock the door on this side to make yourself feel more secure. The sides of the tent are made of canvas that you can roll up, and the largest side had a zipper that can be zipped/unzipped entirely.
The tent is a circular, open-concept, layout. You just walk around the entire thing to get to each “area”. One aspect to note about the floorpan is that there are no doors. Some people might prefer more privacy than Amanda + I, so I just wanted to point that out. For example, the bathroom was really cool, but there was no door.
The Bathroom
The bathroom had a soaking tub, that Amanda used. When I asked her how the bath was she said that the water got “girl hot”. You know, when the water is hot enough to melt your skin off, but it magically doesn’t and feels incredible? 🙂 The shower was very nice with great water pressure. And the toilet was VERY nice. Lol. And the vanity was beautiful. It was a World Market campaign desk (I know, because I used to have the same one), that they turned into a vanity. It was such a cool detail!
The Kitchen
The kitchenette had all the essentials you would need to cook a full meal. It also had a fridge, dishwasher, and a fully stocked coffee + tea bar! One amenity to consider, if you book early enough, is the private chef! Make sure to ask about that if you decide to book! (You can also book a private massage if you reserve a trip early enough.) They had a dining area off the kitchen, and a sitting area with a couch and wood burning stove.
We didn’t spend much time inside, because the weather was so nice. But again, if you go during cooler weather, there are plenty of great hang out options! We didn’t do a full grocery haul, but we did snack on veggies and Fiesta Ranch Dip, which I highly recommend, by the way! It’s one of my favorite snacks. So go grab some for your next event, or just to gatekeep for yourself!
Okay, now it’s time to talk about one of my favorite aspects of the whole trip. The dreamy (pun intended) bed! Omg. We slept so well in this bed! It was incredibly comfortable. We did wear our matching lounge sets (featured in my reel, go check it out) and our sleep masks. And of course, to help with my sleep I brought my tiny sound machine. It’s still amazing, by the way. And no trip is complete without my 3-in-1 charger!
We did get out of the tent for a while to hike Marble Mine Trail. It was so peaceful and pretty. And the hiking trail is fairly easy! The first part took some getting used to, but once we found our stride, it was so great! There is a water fountain in the middle of the trail. We also stumbled upon (not literally lol) a pond! It was gorgeous, and there were SO MANY turtles, which was just fun.
One of the important aspects of this trip was to focus on our wellness. So I made sure to pack all of my healthy girl essentials. My Hydrojug is great for getting in all the water! I also made sure to bring my AG1 for getting in all our vitamins. Hilma to reduce bloating and stomach recovery. LMNT is great for replenishing electrolytes, we used this after our hike. And Armra for gut health. Amanda laughed when we were leaving because she said she’s never drank so much water or taken so many supplements! 🙂
We did venture into town for dinner. The first night we ate at a local Mexican restaurant. The second night we ate at the Crushed Tomato, which was incredible! If you stay at Dunya Camp, you definitely need to pay the Crushed Tomato a visit! It will not disappoint.
I’m so glad we took this trip! It did my heart so much good to be here with my friend and have some time to relax. To give you a little insight on how amazing Dunya Camp is, Amanda and I both FaceTimed our husbands at different points. And both husbands referenced us being in a Final Rose scene of The Bachelor. Haha. You can visit my travel essentials blog post for all the travel essentials to make your girls’ trip easy!
